Early 16th century Gotikoa
Its name comes from the beneficiary priest García Jáuregui, who lived there in the early 17th century. The name Ardixarra (old sheep), is a reference to the epithet of a former tenant.
It’s one of the few examples of urban architecture from the early 16th century in the Basque Country used as a residence and workshop.
Characteristics of the House
• The structure is based around a central beam that symmetrically supports the entire framework of wood and stone of the building.
• The corbels and timbers appear to have been worked delicately, and they are decorated with animal and plant motifs.
• The openings are laid out symmetrically, and the small winter windows are especially noteworthy.
