Visit one of the most award-winning cheese factories.
Have you heard of the latxa sheep? What is Idiazabal J.I? Do you know how cheese is made? How it’s smoked? Do you want to try some?

All those questions, and a few more, can be answered by the ones who know most about the issue, the shepherds and cheese producers of Ondarre.

On this visit, the young shepherd Eneko Goiburu, who has taken over his family’s business, will show you where the latxa sheep graze and stable at his cheese factory in Ondarre, and how he takes care of them, feeds them, and how lambs are dealt with, and how the wool is sheared.... All in the traditional way. In addition, you’ll also get the chance to see spectacular views of the Aizkorri mountains.

On the visit you’ll also get to see the facilities of the cheese factory where they’ve been making Idiazabal cheese for decades. To finish up, there will be a tasting of the different kinds of cheese.
