Beginning of the 16th century - Mid 17th century
This palace is located in one the most elegant parts of Segura. One of the entrances to the town, the High or Castile gate, was nearby, as were the well that supplied water and the Mother of Bethlehem sanctuary, whose painting is conserved on the wall of the palace. Its name belonged to the family who it seems built it and lived there.
The current house shows two different building times. The ground floor is from the early 16th century, it was made of masonry and later cement rendered. The semicircular arch entrance, with large springers supported on half-cut very finely worked columns, is located there.
The palace was damaged by a fire in 1645. Consequently, it would be rebuilt and the two brick upper floors were added. There are balconies on the main floor with a sumptuous and uneven baroque grille around a large family escutcheon. At the top, there is a notable long gallery with seventeen double arches decorated with different carved terracotta motifs (renaissance architecture), and on the end brick cornice and overhang.
